[Movies] Are The Griswolds Set For Another Family Vacation?
Posted by Larry Csonka on 10.07.2009

According to The Hollywood Reporter, New Line Cinema is looking to develop another Family Vacation movie for producer David Dobkim (Wedding Crashers). He may also direct. The film has no script yet, as they are currently looking for screenwriters. According to THR, "the story focuses on Rusty Griswold, the son of Clark Griswold, the protagonist of the initial movies and portrayed by Chevy Chase. The younger Griswold is now a father in his own right and takes his family on a road trip vacation." This sequel will acknowledge the trip from the first film in the series, and Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo may reprise their roles as Clark and Ellen Griswold, this time as the grandparents. No deals are in place with either actor at this time.

In the series of vacation movies, four different actors have played "Rusty" Griswold. They were Anthony Michael Hall in the 1983 original, Jason Lively in 1985's European Vacation, Johnny Galecki in Christmas Vacation, and Ethan Embry in 1997's Vegas Vacation.

AMH would be perfect I hear he isn't doing much these days. This movie could be really awesome and of course the cherry on the top would have to involved Cousin Eddie.

The best Rusty and the one who should reprise the role is Anthony Michael Hall

I haven't seen AMH do a comedy role since the freakin' 90's... which makes the prospect of him taking up the Gris-mantle that much sweeter.

Heck. Yes.

I have always liked Ethan Embry, and he is the perfect age for the part right now. AMH and Lively are both over 40, and Galecki is wrapped up in The Big Bang Theory. It is about time that Embry entered the world of adult roles.

I'd rather see Clark take the grandkids on a trip.

Or how about the Griswolds on The Amazing Race?

Why don't they show the porn flick Clark and Ellen Griswold made in European Vacation? We saw the billboard now shows us Ellen's big tits!

Have Clark and Ellen just be a stop-off on their way to...

Fuck it, have them go to Wally World again, only this time, it's shut down cause of a swine flu outbreak...

Caused by Cousin Eddie...
